St Catherine's Hospice is a Crawley-based charity, providing end of life care for people across Sussex and Surrey. As well as helping local people with a terminal illness to spend their precious time feeling comfortable, supported and free from pain, St Catherine's offers counselling, bereavement support, and welfare advice for both patients and their families. Normal consulting times are 8.50am to 11.50am and 3.00pm to 5.00pm. (See also extended hours timings on the previous tab).
There are a variety of times available with individual doctors for specific clinics starting from 2pm, please contact reception for details of these.

Consultations are by appointment only and can be made by telephone or in person at the surgery during surgery opening hours. Routine appointments are for 10 minutes, please discuss with receptionist if you believe you need longer.
Patients who require an emergency appointment are assessed by the Triage Doctor or Nurse either in person at the surgery or by telephone. Those patients whom he/she is unable to deal with and who are thought to need emergency treatment are given an appointment with a GP later that day.
All employers will allow time off work for people to attend the surgery during working hours if necessary. Non urgent appointments can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance.
The doctors hold clinics, do home visits, attend meetings and have time off for holidays. Therefore, they are not all available in the surgery at every session. If you wish to see a particular doctor, there may be a waiting period.
If you think you may be infectious or feel too ill to wait in the waiting room, please tell the receptionist.
Please ask the receptionist if you wish to speak to her in confidence. If you require a chaperone to be present, during your consultation, please inform reception when booking your appointment or when checking in.
Please do not ask for an urgent appointment unless it is really necessary.
If you require to speak with a Doctor, the receptionist will ask you for details to establish the nature of the call and how urgent it is and whether they are expecting your call. They will take your name and telephone number and pass it to the Doctor, who will then call you back as soon as he/she becomes available. There are no set times for the doctors to receive calls, they are dealt with throughout the day. If you medical query can be dealt with by either the Nurse Practitioner then the same procedure as stated above is required. The Practice Nurses deal with immunisation queries over the telephone and once again if you leave your details with the reception they will also be passed on to the Nurses when they become available.
If possible please try to telephone reception before 11:00 if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
Evening and weekend access to GP appointments
GP appointments are now available during the evening and at the weekend for people registered with a GP in Crawley.
This means that both routine and urgent appointments are available at a local hub during weekday evenings and on a Saturday and Sunday, to make sure local people get the health help and support they need.
NHS Crawley CCG, working in partnership with local patients and clinicians, designed the service. The appointment hubs are run by Alliance for Better Care Ltd, the local GP Federation.
How to book an evening or weekend appointment at a hub
Appointments can be booked through your own GP practice in the normal way, during normal opening hours.
Clinicians working at the hubs will be able to access your medical records with your agreement. You will be asked before any information is shared and can decline if you wish.
Your help to design this new service
In preparation for this additional, improved access to GP care, we sought the views and experiences of local patients and the public through a survey. The results can be found here:
Monday - Friday we run a telephone triage system. If you have an urgent problem which you cannot wait for a routine appointment for, you need to phone the surgery from 8.30am and be asked to be put on the triage list. Triage line closes at 10.00am.
Triage is for urgent problems NOT ongoing problems or long term conditions.
There are a limited amount of these type of appointments each day, therefore please do not waste them.
When you are added to the triage list YOU MUST BE NEAR YOUR PHONE to receive a call back from the clinician - normally within an hour of you phoning us and you MUST be able to come to the surgery if the GP needs to see you face to face. If you are unable to do both of these, please do not use the triage system; it is a waste of your time and ours.
